I hated it then, and it has gotten far worse since I left. I last visited there briefly 9 years ago... the miasma of failure, of manufactured white grievance, the absolute PRIDE in ignorance there was soul-crushing.

The racism, the sickness, the cruelty, the brutality I experienced there... and they chose all that, they celebrate it, they are proud of it.

Yes, they suffer from it as well, but they inflict the pain on themselves and then blame powerless minorities for the pain... and make sure those minorities suffer EVEN MORE.
Because no matter how much they are suffering, if they can inflict GREATER suffering on others- that makes them 'winners'...

And now that insane logic has gripped the GOP as a whole, and is dragging our nation off a cliff.
