And much of that area is in the bounds of White Sands Missile Range, but do you have an idea roughly where it is?
I assume it must be east of the Organ mountain range, since that is where the gypsum deposits are...
I spent about 6 months living in Las Cruces and working at the White Sands Complex to the west of the Organ Mountains back in 2013- we were told to be on the lookout for native american artifacts like arrowheads... there were quite a few that turned up occasionally in the area....
