Its not about technology, or safety, or Da Fyewtcha. Its strictly economics.
Autonomous vehicles are about replacing humans with robots. Its strictly a way to fire truck and taxi drivers and replace them with machines.
And until the technology is perfected, we can always get illegal aliens to drive our commercial vehicles. They'll work for next to nothing.
