Because the frontrunner Republican (Michele Bachman) does not believe in evolution or global warning. She represents the fringe right, the extreme right, the idiot right. He's identifying himself as moderate right and, therefore, more able to be actually elected President. And he is dead right. Because the fringe Right, Radical Right, has a much smaller chance of being elected.
