Shackleton Crater's namesake

The great Antarctica explorer is required studying for astronauts. Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton's crew management skills during the disastrous Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition, 1914–1917 is the stuff of legends. He was the type of leader, and his crew the type of personnel, that will be needed for creating a base on the moon and mining the polar ice.
