Had a chat the other day with an old friend, co-author, and someone I spent a lot of time with in the field. We completely disagree politically, which has been fun over the years. But he is on hard times. Did a gig in Nevada logging core where his vast experience was totally disrespected. I mean, this guy is brilliant describing the geology of drill results. Seen it all. Probably logged a couple thousand miles of core in his day. Not just documenting the rock, but understanding it. Getting the bigger picture.

The young manager didn't care for his input. Just log it into the computer, and do it fast, you've a quota for the day. Sad. What a waste of expertise.
