Blowups happen

If the vehicle was loaded with sufficient telemetry (and I suspect it was) enough data should have been collected to identify the problem and correct it. This sort of failure is to be expected in the development stage. I remember during the early days of the space program the endless series of explosions, (especially on the pad!) were really depressing, but we can see now it was just part of the process of bootstrapping a complex technology, especially one based on harnessing enormous energies. They are nowhere near as commonplace today than they were then. We've gotten better at this, but we still need to keep in mind space travel is expensive, and dangerous.

Let's hope the next one gets further down the line.
