And you know he was getting advice from Pelosi on how to handle this and she is one of the smartest politicians of our time. Every House democrat voted for this because they obviously see an upside for them. There are a couple pathways this could lead to the end of the GOP House majority, either in the short run or long run. If in the very likely scenario in the coming weeks the House GOP is unable to agree on anything, frustrated GOP moderates could step forward with a Speaker nominee who agrees to work with Dem centrists. Or if by November next year they are still in chaos voters will throw them out. Regardless, this is a black eye for the GOP.
