The spelling thing is definitely age related, I've noticed 'out of order letters' happening to me too. I usually catch and correct them before I publish, so I know that type of typo seems to be increasing as I get older.
Another one I've noticed getting worse is using the wrong word (where/were, there/their, to/too, hear/here, etc) even when I know perfectly well which is the correct choice.
I gave up on its/it's a long time ago. Trying to remember if there's an apostrophe just slows down my typing.
