If I had taken something like that and spewed my politics all over it, you would never have let me hear the end of it. In fact, you constantly tell us that my doing that ruins the board for everyone else.
So essentially, there's nothing wrong with it, it may even be true, but you don't like who said it. There is no political statement anywhere in the article, and you have to plug in "subtexts" that, frankly, exist only in your head. If I had posted the exact same article from another source, it probably would have gone down like an oiled eel. Depressing. Next time I'll launder the article, but I didn't even think twice about the source since I was linked to it from another page.
The third paragraph is incomprehensible. What the heck do you consider "real brains?" Who do you define as an "intellectual?" Is Steve Jobs not an "intellectual?" In what universe? What do you consider "academia?" Is engineering school "academia?" Is it necessary to produce ideas that nobody else on the planet needs or wants to be a real "academic?" What "street cred" does an entrepreneur need?
