What is this "Marxism" of which you speak?

Another author comments on the apparent lack of communism in China.

Once again, someone confuses the externals with the abstract principles.

To statists of ALL kinds, all that matters is that the state, or any centralized authority, have total control over every aspect of how things are done in a country.

Everything else is just verbal BS to dazzle academics and fools.

Some private ownership of the means of production? Sure. But the state dictates how the owner runs the business down to the smallest details, has the authority to change anything at its whim, and has first claim on the wealth created. When it comes down to practical matters, under those circumstances, what's the difference if the state "owns" the means of production or not?

This is true in China, even if there aren't any communist posters. Absolute power.

It's becoming increasingly true here.

It's scary to see a few "progressives" in our country looking wistfully over at China, and seeing how convenient and simple totalitarianism can be for those who have ambitious agendas for doing things. Democracy is just so damn messy and inefficient. Kind of like freedom in general.
