Sounds like you might be saying that outlawing gay marriage and abortion, as well as practicing fiscal responsibility will lead to civil war?
Getting the teabaggers to shut up would change where we're headed?
I think Americans have grown enough not to ratify any amendments regarding gays and abortion. The teaparty is checked by the people.
On the other hand "the people", the ones who put the teaparty in congress, seem to have more power than I've seen in the past. Their representatives are directly doing what they were ellected to.
The way things were set up, Well educated people were presented as candidates. The congressional TP appears to know nothing about the fragile world and US economies. This fact might lead to the doomsday you're talking about.
