You do understand that a system that asks for income taxes from some of that 47 percent not paying any does not automatically make it a bad plan.
I have reservations about his plan, but not because it might make some current free riders pay a few taxes. It's that I am leery of any consumption tax being installed without un-installing the income tax first. Having both running is asking for it. Like I said, it wouldn't take long for 9-9-9 to turn into 15-15-15 or worse.
