The middle class had something to do with their own demise.

While their jobs were being shipped abroad, the middle class enjoyed a standard of living increase due to cheap goods from overseas. So not only did outsourcing "save money returned to top management", it's allowed Americans to hang on to more of their own cash.

Are you saying the ultra wealthy caused the job losses and what we tax them won't make up the loss of middle class income? That implies if taxes 'could' cover the loses, it would be the wealth redistribution brought on by federal programs that would make things right again.

I don't think it works that way.

No one forces people to shop at Costco and Walmart. And we knew where the goods were coming from.
