This is not a link to the actual organization, but an "expose" by a group that professes a concern for the First Amendment, but seems to be just another left-wing outfit with a deep loathing and hostility to conservatism and, particularly, Christianity. Ostensibly, this material has been gathered undercover.
However, let's assume for the sake of argument that the info gathered is accurate. I looked at some of it, seeking what had the left all riled up. Some highlights:
--We can examine these horribly frightening statements made by members (I know my hair turned noticably grayer.)
--We can look at the unnerving directories of Executives, Governors, and Members, which contains KNOWN CONSERVATIVES!
--We can look at secretly obtained photos of a Council Member's BUTT!
In the Neverland of the far left, the only thing required to render an organization irredeemably evil is for it to contain conservatives, or promote a conservative viewpoint. Nothing in the information given on this site shows this Council to be anything other than an advocacy organization of like-minded conservatives and religious people, but the fact that its membership is conservative is apparently enough to make it "dangerous" and a target for left-wing spies.
On the other hand, check up a level to browse the Institute for First Amendment Studies, the organization taking the Council For National Policy to task. Check some of their services and opinions. Sweet, huh? Examination of this material leaves little doubt that it is conservatism and religion in general, not just "fundamentalism," that ticks them off.
Why Christianity specifically seems to put a wild hair up their butt is a puzzle to me, although I have a couple of theories. I don't see any worries about Islamic fundamentalism displayed here, although maybe that's because up until now it hasn't been a political issue.
Call me when the Left forms an "Institute for Second Amendment Studies."
