Re: I was a Physics Major, with a minor in Calculus
Other Physics majors were very intimidating. I had trouble with the first question on the first assignment. It was a form of trigonometry from the planet F@$%, never before translated into native. One of the big jokes in the Physics Dept. was how stupid the engineers were by "discretizing" all of their mathematics, picking a formula that was already simplified and using it to solve specific real world examples. The Physicist would rather derive the formulae from scratch in ways that could be applied in an innumerable variety of real world situations, but would almost never solve any specific examples that gave a numerical, non-symbolic result.
