The unspoken, un-PC truth of the matter...

The problem is this:

Israelis are perceived as almost being westerners - in other words they statistically seem to be more intelligent than your average Palestinian. (Not just a little bit either.)

So in battles between the intelligent and the unintelligent - to the educated, the Israeli's forays appear like adults beating up little kids.

This is the problem. This is the same reason the New York Times and most the world's media do not truly believe 20 Israeli lives are worth 100 Palestinian lives.

For that matter 20 Israeli lives probably are perceived as being equitable to 10,000 Palestinians - and only because in that number there are perceived to probably be at least 20 that were comparable in intelligence to the Israelis.

That is why the west can shrug at 75% of the world's aids deaths in southern Africa and the loss of millions. Or give little attention to devastating quakes in other primitive regiojns. Historically, slavery was founded upon the lesser values of certain humans - and thus justified their only valuable contribution to society as slaves.

When I see the Palestinians act unintelligent and blow themselves up - I am not surprised and neither is the NYTimes. However, if an Israeli were to do the same thing it would be shocking - since they are too smart to be doing something so stupid.

So the intelligent folks decry the Israelis actions simply because it is understood the Israelis and Palestinians are NOT treated as equal combatants and anything that reeks of excessive force on their side is much more frowned upon - because they should know better.

The scary thing about this post - after re-reading it - is that it is the unvarnished, unspoken truth of this conflict - and as such is why it makes me look racist or un-pc even pointing it out, even if I don't hold the same absolute maxim.

Truth and I are old allies however - and fortunately I and truth are on speaking terms.

Best wishes,
