T. B. - "Republicans are a lot less likely to line up behind their guy without question than Democrats are,"
That's a well-known scientific fact. Beyond question. All the data support that. Only Democrats vote a party line. Freshman Poly Sci stuff.
And then, T. B. - "I would really love to vote for a Republican for some reason other than simply to keep a Democrat from getting into office."
One of the great paradoxes of modern American political life. How it is that Republicans are so discerning about political candidates,
each making up his own mind based only on merit and political party affiliation,
only on the issues and party affiliation,
judging each candidate on how they stand on important political matters and party affiliation, and
at the same time unquestioningly trusting Rush Limbaugh on science.
Conservatives won't seem to believe anything about man's contribution to global warming until Rush Limbaugh tells them to. But they think for themselves regarding candidates.
A puzzlement.
But, that's what makes an election. Debates, issues, concerns, and party affiliation. And what Rush says.
(Made my day. Thanks.)
