Massachusetts State Troopers remove the restrained passenger from the charter flight

BOSTON -- A flight from Mexico to Rome was diverted Wednesday to Boston's Logan International Airport because of an unruly passenger who had to be restrained by the crew and tied to his seat, authorities said.
Adrea Cafiero, who appeared to be drunk, spit on the wall and slightly injured the person sitting next to him, FBI spokeswoman Gail Marcinkiewicz said.
Crew members on the Air Europe charter flight from Cancun subdued him and tied him to his seat, Logan spokesman Phil Orlandella said. There were 307 passengers and 13 crew members aboard.
Cafiero was turned over to the FBI after the Boeing 777 landed at Logan shortly after 9 a.m. He was carried off the plane with his hands and feet bound.
Cafiero was due in federal court later Wednesday, Marcinkiewicz said. She did not know his nationality.
Cafeiro was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital because he said he was not feeling well, Marcinkiewicz said. A hospital spokeswoman said Cafeiro is listed in fair condition.
The flight continued on to Rome after passengers were questioned.
In December, an American Airlines flight bound from Paris to Miami was diverted to Logan after passengers restrained a man who allegedly tried to ignite explosives in his shoe. Richard Reid, a British citizen believed to have connections to al-Qaida, faces nine charges, including attempted murder.
And how was your flight, sir?
