Y'know, I SAW a 12 y/o kid shot and killed on international TV. I heard the IDF accused of doing that by people on the scene. I read a statement by the IDF acknowledging their forces shot the kid, would "investigate".
The kid was no threat to anyone. He was not armed, nor was he making threatening gestures. There was no excuse to shoot him except to kill a civilian, a young civilian. It was murder.
That lady could have started crying then, she could have started protesting terrorism then. She didn't. Neither did Americans. Kid was Palestinian. Didn't count.
Now, if the IDF does that in front of the cameras, and then I read of an action like Nablus, with 75 Palestinian dead, 1 Israeli dead (not disputed by the Israelis, nor will they let a credible independent commission in), 25 of the Palestinian civilian combatants.
Leaves 50 civilians dead, in what clearly wasn't a "fight" in any classical sense.
1: Because the Israelis won't let an independent commission investigate, the figures have to stand. Actually, it was 79, counting a neighborhood.
2: Because the Israelis won't let an independent commission investigate, I can say they were ALL babies. After all, there's something the Israelis don't want you do know.
3: 2 civilian dead for every combatant is terrible. The Israelis admit to using human shields, though.
4: Just who do you suppose those 50 civilians were? Any women? Any children? Why don't you know? Why don't the Israelis want you to know?
The reality is that woman could have started crying years and years ago. And most tears would be Palestinian.
How decent middle-class Americans can condone a slaughter and ethnic cleansing is beyond me. Propaganda for years, a refusal to look at the actions, to read the statements, to see what's happening.
I was there for years. I agreed, and cheered on Israel. Only recently did I start the research which shows what happens when the media is owned by private industry.
It's afraid of anyone who will protest news coverage, such as the ADL, or JDL. Anyone who will threaten a boycott can sway coverage.
The reason Europeans see this differently is that they get balanced news. Plain. Simple.
No one is invading Israel, no one is trying to kill all Israelis, no one is trying to drive all Israelis into the sea.
Some one is trying to get rid of all Palestinians.
