Though I did say that both John Walker-Lindh and Lori Berenson appear to be cases of “wrong place/wrong time” scenarios, they are still adults, and still wrong. Lori has already been found guilty and has been sentences. Lindh will follow. And since Lori is a U.S. citizen, it is our government's duty to try to get her released from Peru. Of course her return to the States would likely result in local courtroom appearances -- but a likely lighter sentence.
Grown folks make grown folks decisions -- and they live with them,
