Re: ICC

Judiciary independent of govt? Then how is it constituted?

Because Europe and America SEEM so similar, I think we overlook a fundamental underlying cultural precept that is actually a wide gulf between seemingly alike societies. It is the American distrust of government built right into our society by the framers of the Constitution. The American cultural view that in order to get some things done at large, the people cede certain powers to the govt. But the people control the govt. Note that in America, a military officer takes an oath to protect the US Constitution, not the government, not the president.

As American society evolves, I see many of us becomming more aligned to the Euro cultural worldview. Case in point, the prior administration. That's a view some of us do not share.

Many of the UN type proposals seem benign and innocuous on 1st view. But there are subtle and not so subtle traps which violate our Constitution, e.g. citizens rights to bear arms, the right to not be subject to unreasonable search & seizure and so on.
