from a centralized state, Belgium became a Federal state.
Also, capital punishment has been cancelled; the King can have a daughter who succeeds him (the eldest son before was the next king, never the eldest daughter).
Also, the voting system has changed since 1831 (women can only vote since the mid twentieth century).
All kinds of reasons for adapting the Constitution.
