Coal mining and environmental responsibility
<Ukraine considers closing coal mines
Considering how harmful coal mining can be and how harmful coal burning is, nuclear power is THE responsible alternative. For people and for the environment. CO2, black lung, fires, cave-ins, and numerous other ailments have lead coal to have been a stop-gap method of power generation when there was less demand.
I can imagine how loudly some folks would scream if there had been 300 deaths due to nuclear power accidents in the last year.
On the other hand, the way the former USSR goes about nuclear power, THEY may be better off staying with coal.
