Japanese automakers may venture into the general aviation market
I read over back in May about Toyota testing a 4 seat private plane. It has already began flight tests. Now, Honda is flight testing a small jet engine. Interesting, at least to me.
In the meantime, the Eclipse 500 jet is scheduled to make its first flight this month. It's a small 4-6 seat twin engined pressurized jet that is supposed to cost less than a Raytheon-Beech Baron light twin (piston engine, not even turbocharged nor pressurized) while sporting a slick glass cockpit. We'll see.
