I realize that being obtuse is a natural state of being for you, so I'll explain.
Ordinary US citizens are at the mercy of unelected govt "officials" here in the US as illustrated by this article. Govt employees secure in their jobs can promulgate and interpret regulations as they see fit.
Now, imagine such powers greatly enhanced and ceded to even more remote "officials" such as the ICC or UN.
