Re: Direct Liquid Ethanol Fuel Cells
<Medis Technologies has patented a DLEFC for use in handheld electronics. I hear it has the potential to be scaled up to 5 kilowatts (6.5 horsepower) per stack. This is in the power range needed for motorized go-carts, golf carts, and in fact would be adequate for the 1-person "cargo proportional" recumbant vehicle that I've proposed on my Starship Generations website under the section called "Renewable Energy Transportation". If the DLEFC were cheap enough I'd go ahead and build one, after all it promises to be much quieter than a gas or ethanol-fueled Briggs & Stratton Mini Baja Supermileage Intek Model 20.
