that the Khmer Rouge's cultural death wish began by executing anyone who had an education. Their insanity went so far as to murder people who wore eyeglasses because they were probably educated. The irony is that those academic apologists, had they actually lived under the Khmer Rouge, would've almost certainly have been executed (probably under the category of "useful idiots").
