Sahara
The dust/sand storms in the Sahara are truly incredible. One evening in 1986 I was in an open-air movie theater in a small city on the southern fringe of the Sahara when an intense dust storm hit with little warning. Everyone, Africans, European and American aid workers alike instantly bolted for shelter. It was quite thrilling!
And it’s hard to believe that the Sahara was once the home of dinosaurs and 12-meter crocodiles!
