When someone says "Turn of the Century" it is widely acknowledged that this phrase refers to the year 1900 AD. And yet everyone knows that the yr.2000 could also be referred to as such. But it is not !

Furthermore, as we look back at the 70's, the 80's, and the 90's we can use those last two digits of the year as a reference to the decade and the culture of that era. What about this decade? What about from 2000 - 2010, or 2010 - 2020 ? Can we use the same abbreviation comfortably? We are nearly 3-years-deep into the current decade, and yet I can say confidently that I don't know what the @$%# to call it !!!

Any ideas?
