One wrong, at least...

This is not true. I have been "raising" mantises for my garden for years, including in captivity, and if the male is careful he has no problem copulating and beating a hasty retreat. The male being eaten is more of an exception than the rule. The egg cases are fertile, too.
So, now ya know.
