The issue is not homosexuality as such, it is promiscuity and the "gay culture" that celebrates it. A gay culture that celebrated monogamy would never have had an AIDS epidemic. The actual gay culture of the 80's, with rampant anonymous sex and drug use, was a disaster waiting to happen.
