So much for "investigation".

A href=http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/2126423.stm>US team probes Afghan wedding raid.

“A US Air Force general has arrived in Afghanistan to oversee an investigation into the mistaken bombing of an Afghan wedding party earlier this month, in which local people say scores died. (July 13, '02)

An Air Force general officer has had about 7 weeks. Do you think we’re ever going to hear about this again?

“We’re looking into it” doesn't mean much, does it? Read “we’re scrambling to cover it up as fast as we can, and what we can’t cover we’re stalling and stonewalling”.

Tragic. It used to be that in a war, WHO you killed was as important as THAT you kill. The ROEs in Afghanistan seem to be copied from the Crusaders, and we wonder why they hate us.

(What “goodies” do you leave a family which has lost 25 members? To whom do you give them? I mean, who’s left to give ‘em to? Do you give a 14th cousin twice removed living in Pakistan a wrecked HumVee for the scrap value? Ah, the problems of a modern Air Force general. That family is sure "used to" being killed, though, I'll grant that.)
