There would have been far more than 3,000 casualties over the history of aviation from fights between passengers and accidental discharges that perforated the cabin.

Guns don't save people, except in very extreme circumstances.
I see that in your country there are still ~10,000 gunshot fatalities every year.
In my country we don't have a gun culture, and although we only have 1/10 the population of the USA, the gunshot fatalities are ~100 per year
(and there are not other factors replacing guns, either).
