A piece of history is set to fly again on October 26th

"Glacier Girl", a P-38 Lightning, is being readied for its first flight in over 60 years next month. This plane last flew on July 15, 1942. It was forced to make an emergency landing in Greenland while being ferried across the Atlantic Ocean. The plane was one of the Lost Squadron and ended up being covered with over 200 feet of ice. It was recovered about 10 years ago and the restoration is almost complete. Aviation buffs around the world are excited about this project. The P-38 is an extremely rare plane (only 6 are flying today even though some 10,000 were built during the war.
