It's really just a sad thing. I don't know word one about the guy, he may well be a thoughtful, caring, intelligent man who simply made an error in judgement.
The "what-the-heck?" factor alone could cost him a political career, I suppose. He'll be the butt of 10,000 jokes, all because he didn't want to get sick.
There's a demented part of me that wants to find this funny, but I just can't.
