Probably don't want someone who believes in prayer as the treatment of choice for PMS evaluating something in the more material range, would you?
I mean, evaluating ibuprofen. "Well, I've found 14 hours of sincere prayer works better!"
Probably wouldn't want your basic Medicine Man evaluating a double-blind study on an antibiotic. May not want most physicists evaluating the latest chant or prayer wheel.
Christian Science has a lot going for it. And, it's no good at setting a broken arm. For instance.
Anyone can believe and practice what they would like. Anyone can evaluate religions. However, within Judaism, probably Jewish scholars are best at defining that religion for themselves.
Scientists, not superstition-ists, are probably better at evaluating science. Then people can make a choice.
And people who can't see this are scary.
