At some point, an intelligent Leftist eventually has to either suppress his intellect, or finally confront the truth. The one I am most familiar with is David Horowitz, who was once a radical Leftist, but was confronted by the hard facts that lay beneath the rhetoric. His story, told in the book "Radical Son," is worth reading.
I read a column today by someone I am not familiar with, Ron Rosenbaum, who is apparently slowly moving in the same direction. He has a ways to go yet...he realizes the truth about the radical Left, but still believes some of the lies he was told about the Right, the free market, and many other things. Well, Rome wasn't built in a day. It's a lot like watching a baby take its first steps. He may never end up as a conservative, but I'd bet we have a red hot libertarian in the making.
He has a hard journey ahead of him. No one is hated worse by the Left than someone who steps off the straight and narrow worldview they live in.
The radical Left in America is slowly going insane, if it is not there already. We could let them sink into their own little world, if it wasn't for the ghastly fact that many of them are teachers and professors.
A pilgrimage begins?
