Good idea, but it should be heavily guarded against terrorist attacks
Islamic fundamentalists have attacked pre-Islamic sites in Egypt (horrible attack in Luxor a few years ago) and they may very well see the Bibliotheca Alexandrina as being unacceptably "un-Islamic".
The real problem in Egypt is that there are too many crazy people who believe that only one book in this world needs to be read!
