A frightful little Hallowe’en, um -- tail . . . ?

The Halloween Party

A couple had been invited to a swanky, masked Halloween party. The wife, though, got a terrible migraine and told her husband to go on to the party alone. He, being the devoted husband he was, protested at this, but she logically argued she would just take some aspirin and go to bed. There would be nothing for him to do at the house, except be bored, and there was no need for his good time to be spoiled by her ailment. So, taking up his costume, away he went.

After a sound, 60 minute sleep, the wife awakened, and without pain. As it was still early, she decided to go to the party after all, and since her husband had no idea what her costume was, she thought it might be interesting, and even fun, to spy on how her husband acted when she was not around.

She arrived at the party and had soon spotted her husband in the crowd. He was happily cavorting on the dance floor with just about every nice looking chick he could, and copping a little feel here and a little kiss there. His wife went up to him and, being a rather comely babe herself, he readily left his current partner high and dry, now devoting his time to the new fluff that had just arrived. Since he was her husband, she allowed him to go as far as he wished with her.

After a few minutes, he whispered his little proposition to her ear. Eyeing him, she agreed to the proposal, and so off they went to one of the cars in the driveway, and had a very good time of it. Just before unmasking at midnight, however, the wife slipped off into the night. She hurried home and tucked her costume away, getting into bed and wondering just what kind of explanation her man would try to make for his behavior. She was still sitting up reading when he got home. She smiled as her entered the bedroom.

“Well. How was it?” she asked.

He just shook his head. "Oh, it was the same old thing. You know I never have a good time when you're not there."

“Oh... Did you dance much?"

"Ha! Not one dance. And the noise! Chuck was there, of course, and I ran into Pete, Bill Brown, some o’ the other guys. We just went down to the den and played 2-bit poker all evening -- got a few buck out of it.” He sat on the bed and started taking off his shoes, and his wife was glaring at his lying back. “But, honey, you're not gonna believe what happened to the guy I loaned my costume to..."
