I have often admired his positions on American culture, but I am not happy with the entire "War on Some Drugs" concept, much less his enthusiastic support for it.
BTW, no one ever managed to scrape up any real evidence on direct CIA drug running, although the CIA did routinely deal with "resources" in other countries that were involved in the drug trade. This latter was one of the reasons the CIA was forced by the Congress to quit dealing with sleazeballs. And that was one of the reasons we had nobody infiltrating the Al Quaeda sleazeballs before 9-11.
