Re: Time running out?

Seaweed farms would not ruin the skyline like wind power, whose towers and turbines are 300 feet high. Seaweed grows under the surface of the water, and any visible structures would probably only be a few feet high, consisting of regularly spaced floatation buoys, and marker buoys. The farms could be located far offshore where no one would see them, recreational watercraft would not travel that far from shore. And plants are at least 17.6 percent efficient at converting solar energy into plant fiber, which can then be burned to produce electricity, or converted fuel ethanol. Wind power & photovoltaics only produce electricity.
