Serious split between old guard Liberals and New Democrat Centrists
Dems can't decide if they want more class warfare, liberal activism, social engineering, or instead a moderate (relatively speaking of course), more business-friendly program of fiscal restraint, free trade and more mainstream positions on social issues.
Plus they really have no effective, dynamic figures. There's no one in the Democratic party with Bill Clinton's communication skills and, well, seductive charm.
