I think the reason for Thune's gracious concession was his future as a candidate against Dashel.
Dashele now has no power, and almost no hope of ever regaining power.
In South Dakota why vote for someone with no ability to get anything for South Dakota?
Dashele in winning, may have lost his own seat. Thune will be an even stronger candidate when facing down the dimwitted Dashele himself.
