Nuclear power is the ONLY way to go into the future. The third- and fourth-generation power plants are truly fail-safe and efficient.

Unfortunately, GWB is somewhat under the influence of the oil interests, at least to the point of declaring a "pre-emptive" war to steal it.

And the Democrats are all tied up with environmentalists who are afraid of the by-products. As if 10,000 years isn't enough for some nut to GM a virus which will get us all. People are far more vulnerable than computers, and people make computer viruses for the fun it it. Imagine what will happen when the GM genie is completely out of the bottle.

I have a problem with people who get upset over violent deaths and hazardous conditions and DON'T consider that the 50,000 Americans who die every year in auto deaths, or are shot by friends and relatives, or bludgeoned by someone who is drunk or loaded don't see that there are some really violent ways to die which are institutionalized in American society.

Really - Americans don't object to fatal violence. In fact, the NRA embraces it, guns being designed for that purpose. (The attractiveness of guns to inadequate and immature personalities is comparable to kids and Popsicles - only these Popsicles are poisoned. But, it's the kids who eat poisoned Popsicles that are killers, isn't it. Not the Popsicles. And it's not WMD that kill people, it's the people.)

Go figure.

Anyway, nuclear power, first fission, then fusion, would be the way to go, if the politicians could see through the silliness. Silly me!!
