The Libertarians, conservative Republicans, and other, well, fanatics, talk out of two sides of there mouths on this, and never from the front.
The trumpet the US as an example of free enterprise, capitalism, the ONLY way to go.
AND they say that the US isn't an example of free enterprise, capitalism, that things like the railroads are an abomination.
They talk about how productive the American farmer is, and subsidize farming to the tune of $20 billion a year.
Then they say that really isn't a fair example of "free enterprise". Seems schizophrenic to me.
And it is an example of American "free enterprise". A fast buck at someone elses or the environments' expense is still a buck, to be worshipped as much as any other buck. And that's a lot.
The communists say that their economic system didn't have a real trial. And they only had 70 years, not 225 years. So who has the "real" capitalism that is so gleefully touted?
Arf (and I don't understand schizophrenics - at least to the point of making sense of them)
