Re: A boy's letter to a US sailor Dad abroad
I visited my Navy son in San Diego over the Thanksgiving weekend. He described how when he was a young bachelor, he'd frequent the bars in the area. After the ships deployed, there would be quite a few older women there trying to pick up guys like him. Some of them didn't even bother to take off their wedding rings.
Of course, not all Navy husbands (or any other service, for that matter), honor their vows when they're away from home. However, unlike the spouces, military members can and sometimes are court marshalled for adultry. Adultry is against the UCMJ.
