I wish I was as up to speed on this stuff as I ought to be. I use quite primitive tools for my pictures, and haven't made the effort to climb the learning curve on the new and better software. I don't do animation at all. A lot of 3D modeling now, including NURBS, is steered towards animated organic figures for games and such.
