Science Forums

Where scientists, students and enthusiasts talk shop: independent forums and specialist Q&A sites, then subreddits, organized by field.

Part A lists communities outside Reddit; Part B lists subreddits. Both are organized by scientific field. Each entry includes its name, its address, and a short description of its purpose and audience.

Selection favors scientific questions, research, observation, and technical practice. This is a curated starting list, not a certification of every post or an audit of every community's moderation. Broad communities can include beginner questions, careers, photographs, and informal conversation.

Read a community's current rules before posting. Inclusion here is not an invitation to advertise HabitableZone. Participate substantively and ask its moderators before sharing a recruitment invitation or promotional link.

FORUM
Open-ended discussion and replies.
Q&A
Focused questions and answers; broad discussion may be off-topic.
METHODS
Research methods or scientific software; often highly technical.
RESEARCH
A research-oriented subreddit or professional discussion focus.
BROAD
Mixed researchers, students, and informed enthusiasts.
PRACTICE
Observation, instrumentation, experiments, or engineering work.
