Bush picking on poor, abused trial lawyers...

Helen Thomas comes to their defense.

Unfortunately, the Forbes article I linked before on tort reform is no longer on the free site. Suffice it to say, that the examples Thomas gives of the lawsuit industry's good works are probably the exception rather than the rule.

It is interesting that a liberal finds it utterly inconceivable that a corporation can do anything--anything at all--that does not have some ulterior self-serving motive, usually profit-related. No act of charity, no promotion of a safety measure, no touting of concern for customers, is seen as anything except some sneaky way to get more money or prevent the righteous from getting a legal grip on them. In fact, there is absolutely nothing a corporation can do that makes a liberal happy except close down.

Yet trial lawyers, who rake in money from lawsuits by the dump truck full, are somehow considered by the liberals to be sterling examples of selflessness, only in it for the good of the public. Selfish interests? Not them.

Odd sorts of blinders the liberals wear.
